For those of you with daughters taking ballet, there is the day of the performance that absolutely consumes your day. Or your perhaps your life, as it did for Natalie Portman’s character in The Black Swan. In Japan, mothers are required to be at the ballet venue from early morning to late at night. In most cases, that leaves the dad some relaxing time unless you have other kids at home to take care of. This is my case. Besides going to the performance in the afternoon, I must also take care of my younger daughter in the morning and then both of my daughters after the ballet performance. Luckily, this happens only once a year otherwise I would request a change.
Change it for me Changelly
The vast quantities of cryptocurrencies are quite incredible. According to the website CoinMarketCap, the number is 1,178. In comparison, the NYSE, which has been around since 1817, has about 2,800 companies listed. As for crytos, I believe that sticking to the stalwarts like Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin is the safest way to see gains in your Bitcoin+ portfolio. For me though, this was transforming to an adventure into the world of cryptos and the immense altcoins that was part of it.
I could easily exchange, provided I had enough funds in my account, to the other altcoins that my exchanges listed. The problem was what if I wanted to trade for an altcoin that the exchange didn’t have listed. Step in Changelly. Besides Changelly, there is Shapeshift, which seems to do it rather anonymously, but both provide essentially the same service of providing access to a greater variety of altcoins than what may be available on the Bitcoin+ exchange that you may be using. The assortment of coins provided by Changelly and Shapeshift differ and sometimes an altcoin may only be available on one of these cryptocurrency exchange service.
Changelly’s set up process is fairly easy and as long as the altcoin is listed you need just to know the recipient address (which usually is yours) and the send to address (provided by Changelly) so that you can send funds or coins from your exchange or wallet. The more often that you do something the better and more confident you become and then at some point, as Malcom Gladwell points out in Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking, it’ll almost become second nature to you. An important note, look at the transaction fee that your exchange or wallet charges and the exchange rate and transaction fee that Changelly is offering to see if it is something you want to pursue further. I have found that for me, sending Litecoin from my exchange to Changelly has a lower transaction fee and faster transaction time. Of course, your mileage may vary.
